Favourite DS organisation
My Monday Blogging group is answering a few questions in the run up to World Down Syndrome Day on 21st March 2021.
Q. Favourite DS organisation
Imagine this? The Down’s Syndrome Vision Research Unit at Cardiff University, Wales. For over 20 years they have studied vision in children and young adults with Down’s syndrome. Their research has changed eye care practice across the U.K. and abroad. How incredible is that? Soon Coraline will be sporting glasses and their research prepared me for exactly why that is.
And of course we love the @downs_syndrome_association whose headquarters are in fact about a 20 minute drive from our house. Kevin drove there after Coraline was born. And the amazing resources from Down Syndrome Education International. A huge shout out to our local parent run charities PSDS, 21&Co and Get on Downs, all of whom have played a big role for us. I love to imagine similar parent run charities or groups the world over.
