Seeing Coraline

I’ve joined a group of mums to answer a Monday question.

Today’s is:

“How do you think that people close to you (family, friends, neighbours, etc.) see Coraline?”

They love her. They think she’s pretty cool.

I wanted to share their responses with you directly so I asked them this question and this is what they said:

Grandpa: I love the way Coraline is just so naturally herself and contented.

Uncle Ed: A source of warm love who echoes back my own cheeky playful side (like how she bounces up and down with joy watching TV, or just dismissively sweeps all her books and toys off the sofa when she’s had enough of them).

Grandma: I remember Coraline’s grandma telling me last summer that when she thought about Coraline she thought of prettiness and of a real presence. She called her “a little movie star”. She was a big fan of Coraline and loved her dearly.

Nana in Ireland: She brings joy

Auntie Roxy: I see Coraline as a happy, sweet little girl who is learning every day

Coraline’s Uncle Julian: She’s a very sweet presence who you want to cuddle but can’t because of covid restrictions and because of “In The Night Garden” on t.v. being better

Coraline’s cousins: She is energetic, brave, happy, a really good cousin and really cute

Coraline’s Godmother Payne: She’s my best pal and husband’s daughter. My goddaughter. So is everything they are to me.

Coraline’s family in Australia, Ireland and Holland and all our friends are also really taken with her and love hearing about her. We are very taken with the way they are taken with her!

This photo was taken by our old neighbour Margaret last summer, and we know what she and her husband Dave think of Coraline: they think she’s simply the best.
