How has Coraline most surprised you?

Monday blogging question, “How has Coraline most surprised you?”

By being diagnosed with Down’s syndrome when she was born.

Before she arrived Coraline’s grandpa predicted she’d make “a bit of a splash” when she was born. She’s done just that. She’s propelled us, and her wider family, and our friends, on a journey we are all richer for. I believe that Kevin and I are discovering avenues we would not have otherwise, and coming to a real understanding of the world and ourselves. We are going in a direction we hadn’t anticipated before she was born and we are embracing where she is taking us. We are aiming for goals that really inspire us, all linked back to her.
